Celebrating 10 Years
“The journey of Basketballplayground.com began 10 years ago with a lofty vision. I noticed that in many of the neighborhoods, where young people needed a safe place to be active and have something positive to do like play basketball, the courts were slowly being torn down. Too many of the neighborhood courts were becoming magnets for late night crime and violence. I wanted to raise funds to redo old community parks and keep basketball courts alive in neighborhoods. This idea became an insurmountable task laden with layers of government regulations and roadblocks. The vision of taking basketball to the hood evolved into bringing the hood to basketball. I started a program to draw kids from neighborhoods to a place to be safe and have fun at the same time. Basketballplayground.com became a vehicle for students to stay in school, stay out of trouble, and build the confidence and strength of stellar athletes. We are pleased to be celebrating 10 years of providing hope and mentorship to hundreds of young people.”

As a basketball Mom I can a apprecaite this effort to drawn youth to the basketball court, it’s a perfect opportunity to instill team building and core values. Keep up the good works.
